Privacy Policy
Last Updated: March 5, 2026
Phozi ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains
our practices regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of your information through the Phozi
mobile application (the "Service").
Phozi is a local-first application. This means we prioritize your privacy by
performing data processing on your device rather than on external servers.
1. Data We Access
Phozi uses Google OAuth2 to securely connect to your Google account. We request the following permissions
(scopes):
- Google Drive access: Used to analyze storage, manage files, and perform smart
backups.
- Google Photos access: Used to display your unified gallery, manage albums, and
detect duplicates.
- Device Storage: Used to scan for media files to enable local-to-cloud
synchronization and management.
2. Security & Data Protection
Your data never leaves your device: Phozi does not operate any backend servers that
store your personal photos, files, or login credentials.
- Local Processing: All file analysis, including hashing for duplicate detection,
happens entirely on your phone.
- Encrypted Tokens: Your Google authentication tokens are stored using
device-level encryption.
- Direct Connection: The app communicates directly with Google's APIs. No
middle-man servers are involved.
3. Feature-Specific Data Use
- Advanced Auto-Backup: We monitor system states (WiFi connectivity, charging status)
locally to trigger backups according to your preferences.
- Smart Duplicate Detection: We generate cryptographic hashes (fingerprints) of your
files to identify identical content across multiple accounts. These hashes are stored in a local
database on your device.
- Storage Analysis: We aggregate metadata from your accounts to provide visual
breakdowns of your storage usage. This is calculation is performed in real-time on your device.
4. Third-Party Services
Phozi integrates with Google API Services. Our use of information received from Google APIs will adhere
to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use
requirements.
5. Your Rights
Since Phozi stores data locally, you have full control over your information:
- Revoking Access: You can sign out of your Google accounts or revoke Phozi's access
at any time through your Google Account security settings.
- Data Deletion: Uninstalling the app or clearing app data will permanently remove
all local databases and encrypted tokens from your device.
